Honey? I Think Not

I may get black-balled from the Squire Room for this, but here goes....

What the hell were you thinking down in Moore County?  Had to be someone from the corporate office who came up with that idea.  Oh, if you don't know what I'm talking about, Jack Daniel's has come out with a new whiskey - Jack Daniel's Honey Whiskey.  Obviously, I am not a fan.

I realize that there are various tastes and not everyone enjoys the taste of Jack Daniel's, but there is hope for them one day.  At first taste, it really isn't too bad, but then within a couple of seconds, here comes this maple syrup taste that made me feel like I had just been to IHOP.  I quickly got some Black Label to rinse that taste out of my mouth.  Luckily, I had only purchased an airline-sized bottle. 

I quickly found another Squire (Squire Cullen) who confirmed my opinion.  Glad to know that I wasn't completely off my rocker.  We came to the conclusion that the powers that be were trying to 1) capture the market of those who like to put Coke with the product (there's hope for them too) or 2) come up with a beginner's product - think Jack on training wheels. 

To each his own and thank goodness it is their own, because it isn't for me.  This is one Squire that believes the Jack Daniel's Honey Whiskey will be like the black-sheep cousin - everyone puts up with it, just because it's family.
